Roger Federer, Nadal, Djokovic push each other to the limit - Pundit

Speaking on Amazon Prime, pundit Pete Odgers commented on how the Big Four inspired each other to improve. "This is why the greats at the top of the game - Nadal, Djokovic, Federer and [Andy] Murray of course - have credited each other", admitted Odgers during this week's Barcelona Open. "They push each other to the next limit. If they don’t keep working on new things and improving and getting better, they have also got these young upstarts coming up. They have got to keep working on everything. But not just that, they are always trying to improve. What more can you do? Of course this offseason Nadal has gone off and changed things in his serve and it has worked. He was fantastic in Australia Rafael Nadal. The injury coming at Indian Wells, I think that unsettled him. He likes to get a lot of matches under his belt and I think that unsettled him. He likes to feel comfortable and I think we are going to see a building process before he reaches his peak.”

Odgers also spoke about Nadal's straight-set win over Jan-Lennard Struff: “With how well Nadal has served, that helped him out. You lose a point here or there against someone like Struff and it can be very dangerous. He had to be on it there and it's worrying signs for the rest of the tour. He also referenced the fact it is two semi-finals back-to-back. With all of his injury issues, he hasn't had the chance to do that all that often in the last 12 months. Thiem is one of those players to have beaten Nadal on clay - one of the few players to do so."
