Toni Nadal explains how he learned from Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic

In an interview, Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni commented on how the biggest rivals made them improve. The 58-year-old said: "You have to adapt to the player. You have to be careful and not use the same method for all the players. In order to win you need to have a clear idea to know how you want to play. I often showed Rafael videos of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer serving in order to make him understand how he had to hit a certain shot. It depends on the opponents as well: if he faces a top player like Djokovic, Federer, Grigor Dimitrov, Juan Martin del Potro, we approach the match being more careful, but we do not try to change too many things."

Recalling his beginnings as a coach, Toni concluded: "I always thought I could be a good coach. The First one I coached was my brother Miguel Angel, I did not make him a good tennis player but a football player, but I did not get disappointed and I started working with children in order to try to make them good. The technique is very important, and when a kid hits, he needs to think that the ball will end up inside the court. You have to make the kids having the desire to listen to you and that if he makes an effort, he improves. Sometimes it's not easy because some kids have a weak character and not so much passion, but you have to make a kid note that every day he is making steps forward."
