Zhuhai Championships lands first three big names for its inaugural edition
Rising Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas, fellow rising star Nick Kyrgios and world No. 21 Roberto Bautista Agut are the first three players confirmed for the inaugural edition of Zhuhai Championships.
The Zhuhai organizers held a press conference on Friday and announced its first player signings.
The Zhuhai event will be held during the Asian indoor hard-court swing.
China will stage two ATP 250 tournaments in the same week as Zhuhai will be held simultaneously as the Chengdu Open, from 23-29 September.
The Zhuhai organizers are certainly eager to land big names for its first edition as they target to have a good tournament debut on the ATP Tour.
Tsitsipas is enjoying a breakthrough season on the tour, having reached his maiden Grand Slam semi-final at the Australian Open and achieved his career-high ranking of No. 8 in the world.
With his attractive shot making and casual game-style, Kyrgios is a fan favourite wherever he goes.
The Zhuhai crowd will also have a chance to see in action nine-time ATP champion and former world No. 13, Bautista Agut.
