Jaume Munar's Estoril debut delayed as he pulls out of tournament

Rising Spanish star Jauma Munar has withdrawn from the Estoril Open

The 21-year-old won't be making main draw debut on the clay of Estoril next week. 

The Spaniard tried to make the Estoril main draw through the qualifying event last year but fell short in his attempt as he was beaten in the final round by Italy's Simone Bolelli. 

Munar, ranked at his career-high ranking of No. 57 in the world, is set to take a rest as he has played in each of the opening three weeks of this clay season. 

The Spaniard last played at this week's Barcelona Open, where he lost to 2018 French Open runner-up Dominic Thiem in the round-of-16. 

In the remaining two tournaments played this clay season, Munar made the Marrakech quarter-final and Monte Carlo Masters second round respectively. 

Following the withdrawal of Munar, a place in the Estoril main draw has opened for fellow rising star Nicolas Jarry. ​

However, if remains to be seen will the Chilean be making his second consecutive appearance in Estoril as he may still choose to play Munich. 

In his Estoril debut, Jarry made the quarter-final before losing to Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta.
