ATP Madrid: Dominic Thiem and Diego Schwartzman into doubles final

Austrian Dominic Thiem and Argentina's Diego Schwartzman have continued their great Madrid Masters doubles run as they have reached the final. 

Thiem, 25, and 26-year-old Schwartzman saw off  Argentina's Guido Pella and Portuguese Joao Sousa 6-3 6-2. 

Thiem and Schwartzman saved three break points in the third game before they claimed the first break of the match in the sixth game to take a 4-2 lead. 

Pella and Sousa saved two set points in the eighth game but Thiem and Schwartzman had no problems serving out for the first set in the following game. 

Thiem and Schwartzman failed to realize any of their four break points in the third game of the second set but kept their focus as they claimed back-to-back breaks in the fifth and seventh game to take a 5-2 lead. 

Pella and Sousa saved three consecutive match points in the eighth game but Thiem and Schwartzman converted their fourth match point to earn a win in 57 minutes. 

Thiem and Schwartzman converted 3-of-10 of their break point chances and saved 4-of-4 of Pella and Sousa's break point chances in the match. 

Thiem and Schwartzman will be fighting for the Madrid tile against Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau.
