Daniil Medvedev's tough French Open exit leads to epic press conference
Rising Russian star Daniil Medvedev wasn't in the mood to talk to the reporters after suffering a tough French Open exit.
Medvedev, seeded at No. 12, blew a two-set lead against world No. 43 Pierre-Hugues Herbert as the Frenchman completed a stunning comeback win 4-6 4-6 6-3 6-2 7-5 in three hours and 54 minutes of play.
Medvedev got the first break of the match in the seventh game of the first set and then held on to his serve to win the opener.
The Russian then started the second set with a comfortable 4-0 lead before he served out for the set in the 10th game.
However, Herbert refused to give up as he made the most out of the break he earned in the sixth game to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
The Frenchman failed to bagel the Russian in the fourth set but managed to serve out for the set in his second attempt, in the eighth game.
Medvedev started the decider with a 2-0 lead but Herbert kept his focus as he broke the Russian in the third and 11th game to complete a big comeback win.
