Struggling to get back to top form post her knee injury, Elina Svitolina produced a fantastic performance to outclass Venus Williams in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to move into the second round of Roland Garros.

"It's important to keep low expectations because since with injuries is tricky," Svitolina told reporters after her win. "You can feel good and then sometimes it can, you know, just pop up. "Because everyone has their own way, and it's important to have your own way which going to help you to move forward and not get the negative thoughts on the way."

Taking on fellow Ukrainian Kateryna Kozlova, Svitolina said, "I know Kateryna for a long time. I haven't seen much of her game recently, but we'll see how it goes.
