For Karolina Pliskova this is the season of truth

Karolina Pliskova's season has been positive so far. But, looking behind at the first three months of 2019, the Czech had chances to be able to achieve even more than all the good things she got in the first part of this season.

The final of the Miami Open confirmed her good state of psycho-physical shape. On fast surfaces she's always a very dangerous tennis player for her opponents and, at 27, she can live the season of truth just this year. The watershed moment that divides a good tennis player from a great champion.

From the beginning of the year, Pliskova played and won the Brisbane final against Lesia Tsurenko, she reached the Australian Open semi-final lost against Naomi Osaka, the quarter-finals in Dubai and Indian Wells (defeats against Su-Wei Hsieh and Belinda Bencic) and the Miami Open final, where she was defeated by Ashleigh Barty.

Now comes the most difficult moment of the season for her. In fact, for her tennis, clay are the most difficult factors. Despite this, in the last two years Pliskova has made great improvements also on this surface, obtaining the semi-final of the French Open 2017 and winning, last season, the title in Stuttgart.

During the grass swing and during the rest of the hard-courts season, she will perhaps have the chance to increase her number of titles and be able to achieve other important goals. Much will depend on her psycho-physical condition.

Pliskova will have to present herself at the next appointments at the top, both physically and psychologically. Considering that she has many competitors, the situation is still complex, but she still has the necessary skills to be able to aspire to achieve very important goals. Wll she be able to do it?
