It's 90 percent mental for Alexander Zverev now, says Annacone

Roger Federer's former coach Paul Annacone commented on the tough time that Alexander Zverev is going through. The German player has been dealing with a lot of personal stuff lately and he is not delivering his best tennis. "Right now it's just one of those moments for Zverev where he has lost it, it's 90 percent mental," said Annacone. "He is not all of a sudden not a great player but now it's about how he does get back and you could see his attitude in press conference, he is disappointed, he is frustrated, there is a lot of negativity and when you surround yourself with those moments it's very difficult no matter of how good a tennis player you are to bounce back, so he has got to recreate little positive, he has got to recreate that belief and he has got to do what made him get to the top five in the world."

The former world no. 6 Chanda Rubin added: "A lot is emotional and mental for him right now, we are seeing that on court, his game just disappeared, it did not go somewhere, he has been one of the best players the last year on clay winning big titles, so he has that within him. He has got to figure it out in his head and how to keep competing at a high level in tough moments. That's what his opponents are coming at and embracing it."

Alexander Zverev is playing in Geneva this week.
