Karolina Pliskova barely trained in April, says coach

In an interview to Marca Conchita Martinez commented on the improvements made by Karolina Pliskova under her guide. The Spaniard said: "You saw that a bit in Australia. For me the footwork was important, as well getting well to the balls. In general, the defence improved a lot. The safety in shots and picking the shots well. She hits s bit of top spin and she keeps being aggressive. We are working to end more the points at the net. You will see that in Wimbledon. I try to give her patience. Things are getting better. All the players work with the goal of winning the Grand Slams. She trains every day to win as most as possible but you do not have to put pressure. There are a lot of examples of players who were on the top ranking positions and did not win a big title."

Pliskova opened her run on a good note on Sunday in the French Open defeating Madison Brengle 6-2 6-3. The Czech competitor will face Kristina Kucova next.
