Madison Keys reveals the people who inspire her

As part of the first-ever Kinder Girl World Day, the 24-years-old American player has revealed several of the people who are exceptional sources of inspiration to her. From her best friends to her idols, Keys certainly made more than one person smile with her kind messages.

“Venus & Serena Williams were both huge inspirations for me to play tennis,” tweeted Keys as her first message of the day. “What they’ve done on court is incredible. What they do off the court in business, helping other girls & championing for equal pay is also so inspiring. They motivate me to do & be my best.”

“Sloane is one of my best friends on the WTA tour,” said Keys about fellow American Sloane Stephens. “To have someone you compete against one moment & laugh with the next can be rare. Her foundation does amazing things & so many kids are lucky to have her in their lives. She always has my back.”

“Lindsay Davenport has had a huge impact on my tennis career, but more than that she’s someone I adore,” said the 2017 US Open finalist. “She's always there for me to answer any question or give advice. To grow up watching her win Grand Slam titles & now having her in my corner is amazing.”

World No. 14 also took the time to thank Laura Robson—“She’s gotten me through some tough times”—Megan Markle—”She uses her role to help others, even while she’s a new mom”—and Chrissy Teigens—“A lot of times with her humour, she stands up to the negativity on her social media”—as well as all the other people and entities who took part in encouraging positivity on the Internet.
