Nick Kyrgios ends his clay season as he withdraws from French Open

Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the French Open due to illness.

Kyrgios debuted at the French Open in 2013.

The 23-year-old made the third round at Roland Garros in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Kyrgios has now picked up back-to-back French Open withdrawals.

The 23-year-old was drawn to meet fellow compatriot Bernard Tomic in the first round last year before he pulled out due to an injury.

Kyrgios will now focus on getting ready and prepared for the grass season.

Kyrgios will open his 2019 grass campaign in the opening week of the grass season as he is expected to play in Stuttgart.

The Australian made the Stuttgart semi-final last year before being edged out by Roger Federer in a tight clash.
