Novak Djokovic was above Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal at his best - Muller
Amazon Prime pundit Gilles Muller believes that Rafael Nadal will be a top contender in the clay season despite his losses in Barcelona to Dominic Thiem and in Monte Carlo to Fabio Fognini. Following Thiem's win last Sunday over Daniil Medvedev, Muller said: "I think he is going to be one of the contenders for every tournament he plays on clay. But I think Nadal played better this week and he took a lot of confidence from this tournament. So I think he’s going to be ready for the big events. We have Madrid, Rome and the French Open. And I think you still need to beat Nadal.”
Muller was also asked who is the best player among Roger Federer, Nadal and Novak Djokovic: "That’s a tough question. They all play different but I think Novak when he was dominating, he was way above everyone. Whereas Roger, I think he’s the better tennis player because of his backhand, he struggled more, even in his prime. You could see that when he played Rafa, he always had a tough time because as a leftie it was easier to find the backhand of Roger.”
