Radu Albot shares thoughts on entire crowd supporting Roger Federer
In an interview to the ATP Tennis Radio, Radu Albot commented on how it felt like to face Roger Federer in Miami with the whole Central Court crowd cheering for the Swiss player. Albot said: “It was an interesting experience, I have to say. I’d never played against Roger, it was my first time and on Hard Rock Stadium it was even more unbelievable. The crowd was supporting Roger more obviously. When he won a point it was pretty crazy in there, [but] when I was winning the point it was silent. I liked it and I hope I can play against him in some other tournaments. I’d also like to play against some other top guys like Rafa and Novak to be able to compete against the best.”
Asked if it is an extra challenge to face Federer and the whole crowd, Albot added: “Not really challenging but if you are a tennis fan, you come to watch a match and support good tennis. But when you support just one guy for whatever reason, it is a little bit not correct. And most of the people in the stadium was there only because Roger was playing. It is a good experience and I liked it but the crowd was obviously on his side.”
