Roger Federer: Del Potro can be very dangerous in Paris
In an interview, Roger Federer spoke about Juan Martin del Potro's comeback to tennis. The Argentinean played two consecutive tournaments in Madrid and Rome for the first time since October 2018. "He has just come back in Madrid, he lost in the first round there, I only saw the last three games and some of the match against Novak which was great," said Federer. "Last year, he felt pretty good and so he can make another good run. Obviously, it's a long shot to come back from an injury and plays the French Open, but everyone can do it, he is part of that group who does not need to play much tennis to be very competitive. And if all stars align you never know, he can be very dangerous."
Novak Djokovic said: "The way he (del Potro) played in Rome he was so close to his best, he played extremely well, he moved extremely well which is tricky for him because he is struggling with injuries but it seems like he is fit and I really like Delpo, he is a great person, we get along very well. I hope he reaches the semifinals and I do not meet him," the Serb said laughing.
On Federer, Rafael Nadal added: "I hope to face him again, we have a good rivalry that goes beyond tennis, there is a nice story between us, we had very important moments. It's very important to have a player like him in such a big tournament."
