'Roger Federer is the best players for numbers, but on clay...' - Hrbaty

In a recent interview, the former player Dominic Hrbaty commented on how the 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer evolved both mentally and tennis-wise over the years. The Slovakian said: "Roger always had a very good hand and he easily learned. In the beginning, he had a problem, he was inconsistent and he was not always committed in the practice sessions. Then he changed, he realized to have unbelievable talent. And so he became a tennis legend. All over the world, there are many talented tennis players, in Slovakia you have a few, but only a few of them will use their 100% potential. With Roger, tennis looks very easy, but the difference is that he is able to play a big shot in the key moment."

Who is the best tennis player of all time? "Looking at the numbers, it's Federer. But he was not the best on clay, he did not have the best conditions or serve. I'd rather pick the perfect player."

How does the future of tennis look like without Federer? "There will always be a new player, one day someone will win. Records are there to be broken. 15 years ago, we did not believe that Pete Sampras's 14 titles could have been repeated. And look what numbers we are speaking about now", concluded Hrbaty
