Rudolf Molleker: It is difficult to beat anyone at Grand Slam level
Rising German star Rudolf Molleker admits it is not easy at the Grand Slam level but he feels confident in his game.
The 18-year-old made it past the French Open qualifying event to earn a chance to make his main draw debut on the clay of Roland Garros.
Molleker beat Tommy Robredo, Mathias Bachinger and Santiago Giraldo on his way to qualifying for the French Open main draw.
The German's last two wins were pretty impressive as he came from a set down to beat Bachinger and Giraldo respectively.
"When I've played good tennis on clay I’ve managed to get big wins. I beat David Ferrer (Hamburg 2018) and I've got some good wins behind me already. So, I know if I can play my best I think I'm dangerous," Molleker said, per the Roland Garros website.
"Obviously it's difficult to beat anyone at this level, but I'll give it my all in the main draw."
Molleker, ranked at No. 177 in the world, will open his French Open campaign against 90th-ranked Alexander Bublik.
