Tsonga jokes: Roger Federer, Djokovic, Nadal could've left one Major to me
In an interview with Le Parisien, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was asked if the big successes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic influenced his mentality in a bad way. "Of course," replied Tsonga laughing. "I think that they could have left at least one Major to me. I often lost to them during the second week of a Grand Slam. But my (nemesis) was Andy Murray. I only defeated him twice. I was praying I would face one of the three. All of them are the same! Let's not head into the debate about the talent because what's the talent? Working is a talent, and they have everything. Injuries do not matter, they always come back stronger. They have an impressive ability to adapt. They always manage to find solutions, they never give up. From this point of view, they are the same. They have different physical qualities but an unbelievable one. Roger has uncommon explosiveness, Novak has this unique flexibility and speed and Rafa has everything: speed, fitness and amazing power."
Meanwhile, Benoit Paire commented on his mindset: "All the people who know me tell me that Benoit is the good guy, calm, not too much excited. But as soon as I throw the racket, it seems that people are waiting for it. They are like, This is the Benoit we know. No, that happens to everyone. Look at Novak Djokovic: he throws more rackets than I do! Much more! I was calmer than Djokovic this year."
