Borna Coric hopes to be ready for Wimbledon

Rising Croatian star Borna Coric hopes to be ready for Wimbledon.

Coric opened his grass season in 's-Hertogenbosch, where he made the semifinal before losing to eventual champion Adrian Mannarino.

"Hi guys, I am sorry I had to retire on Friday. I went to the doctor and hopefully I will be ready for Wimbledon. Thanks for the support everyone, I will keep you posted about my recovery," Coric tweeted.

Coric failed to make it past the Wimbledon qualifying event in 2014 but has since made four consecutive main draw appearances at The Championships.

The 22-year-old hasn't enjoyed lots of success so far in his career at The All England Club.

Coric's best result at Wimbledon came in 2015, when he made the second round in his debut appearance.

Wimbledon is set to be held from July 01-14.
