Coach Ivan Lendl set to ‘focus’ on Alexander Zverev

According to Jannik Schneider of tennis MAGAZIN, German tennis star Alexander Zverev and coach Ivan Lendl “will definitely” work together during the upcoming grass season. 

11-time ATP champion Zverev is without his coach Lendl at the French Open but the German said a couple of days ago the former world No. 1 would join him in Halle and Wimbledon. 

Yet, the rumors started to circle about the Zverev and Lendl partnership but the two won’t be splitting anytime soon as the former eight-time Grand Slam champion wants to “focus” on Zverev. 

Zverev hired Lendl hoping he would help him finally make a deep run at a Grand Slam tournament. 

Andy Murray struggled to get over the hump at the Grand Slam level until he hired Lendl. 

Former world No. 1 Murray then won a total of theee Grand Slam titles during his two stints with Lendl — the first two came during their first stint at the US Open in 2012 and Wimbledon in 2013 respectively, while the third Major title came during their second stint at Wimbledon three years ago. 

It remains to be seen will having Lendl in his coaching box help Zverev at The All England Club in July.
