Novak Djokovic: As a kid, I was making improvised Wimbledon trophies

World No. 1 Novak Djokovic is looking forward to defending his Wimbledon title as he aims to once again make it all the way at The All England Club.

The 32-year-old has had lots of success throughout his career at The Championships as he is a four-time champion at the tournament.

Djokovic's childhood dream of winning it all at Wimbledon became a reality in 2011 when he beat Rafael Nadal in the final to win his first title at the event.

"I'm very excited (about defending my Wimbledon title). Wimbledon is definitely the most special tournament. I always dreamt of winning that tournament. I think when I was six or seven years old I was making this improvised Wimbledon trophies and imagining, looking myself in the mirror, and lifting that trophy, and imagining I'll be standing one day on Centre Court," Djokovic said during his on-court interview after beating Christian Garin at The Boodles. 

Meanwhile, Djokovic beat Garin 6-4 6-2 in his first match on grass this year. 

For this grass season, the Serb decided to get back to his old grass season routine -- skip all the ATP grass-court events and use The Boodles as his Wimbledon preparation.

During his on-court interview, Djokovic said The Boodles is "as good of a preparation as you can get."
