Alex de Minaur confident he will soon regain his old form
Promising star Alex de Minaur is confident that he will soon regain his form.
The Australian took a rest to treat a groin injury after suffering a shock first-round loss to Marcos Giron at the Indian Wells Masters in the early March.
The 20-year-old returned to action a month a half later but hasn't yet found his game and form.
World No. 34 de Minaur has won just three and lost seven matches since returning from the injury.
De Minaur, a former world No. 24, will be hoping to find his game this week on the hard courts of Atlanta.
"I feel like I’m doing all the right things, putting myself out there. If it doesn’t happen this week, next week or the week after, I’m going to keep doing the same things,” de Minaur told the ATP website. “I’m going to do all the right things, be mentally strong, physically strong and I’m playing good tennis, so I think it’s just a matter of time."
The third-seeded Australian has a first-round bye in Atlanta as he will open his campaign against the winner of the match between Bradley Klahn and Marius Copil.
