Defeating Rafael Nadal in the French Open is my dream, says Tsitsipas
In an interview Stefanos Tsitsipas commented on his goals. The Greek player admitted that he dreams one day to defeat Rafael Nadal in the French Open. "It would be unbelievable to achieve it. A very few guys beat Nadal in the French Open. My goals are also to win a Masters 1000, reaching the ATP Finals and winning several 250s and 500s tournaments", said Tsitsipas.
Would he pick a Grand Slam title or Olympic gold medal? "Difficult question, why should I pick? I would say the gold medal."
Meanwhile on the Athens native, the former world No. 1 Kim Clijsters added: "He is the new face of the men's tennis and I am sure many people will look at him in the following years when Big Four will retire. With Denis Shapovalov and Alexander Zverev, they are all very talented. They will have great rivalries in the years ti come and I am sure they will fight for the most important titles. The way Tsitsipas played in Melbourne against such an experienced player like Federer was great."
The ITF shared the list of tennis players who got most drug tests in the last year. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer got 20 each, while Novak Djokovic had 21. Karen Khachanov (32), Dominic Thiem (30) and Kei Nishikori (28) lead the way. Joao Sousa got 27. On the women's side Julia Goerges got 28 tests. Serena Williams, who complained last year for the many drug tests she did, only got Meanwhile the Wimbledon CEO Richard Lewis commented on the seeding formula that raised criticism from the two-time tournament winner Rafael Nadal. “It’s a formula that’s been in place for a long time. So it is what it is, really. From our point of view it wasn’t controversial, because we had no choice, really. The formula is in place, so we just simply stuck to the formula. I think there’s a good logic to the formula."
