Li Na's joke: If she has enough money, I'll help Serena with children

In an interview with Forbes, the former world No. 1 Li Na commented on Serena Williams's season being influenced by injuries. The American player has dealt with a knee and ankle issues and she played injury-free for the first time in Wimbledon where she reached the final. “Injuries for an athlete is the worst thing ever. Also for your heart, because you really want to fight but your body cannot. I had a similar situation. I had to retire, there was no choice, I had to, otherwise, I would have continued," Li told Forbes.

On how Serena manages to be a mother and at the same time, a high-level player, Li joked: “OK, if she has money, I will help her take care of the children. I think for a woman, it’s pretty tough. On her relationship with clay court, Li concluded: “Actually, where I started tennis, it has a sand court, and we had to slide a little bit, so I know how to use the slide. I really didn’t like clay courts though. You can do so many exercises, but I never won the point."
