Jordan Thompson speaks of upcoming Wimbledon clash against Nick Kyrgios

Rising Australian star Jordan Thompson is ready to leave it all on the court when he meets fellow compatriot Nick Kyrgios in the Wimbledon first round as the 25-year-old wants to continue his good grass season.

Thompson and 24-year-old Kyrgios will be clashing against each other for the first time in their respective careers when they in the first round at The Championships.

This grass season, Thompson has twice fallen just short of winning his maiden ATP title as he ended runner-up in 's-Hertogenbosch before losing in the Antalya semifinal. 

On the other side, a bit surprisingly Kyrgios hasn't had a great season as he picked up a first round exit in Stuttgart before losing in the Queen's round-of-16.

"I don’t want to let him (Kyrgios) get past me. But I’ve got a job on my hands. He’s got an incredible serve – it’s very unreadable. I’ve got to do everything in my power to try and get it back in play. And then I’ve got to look after my own serve, so it’s gonna be a big task. (My grass-court season has) been pretty good. Made a final in my first event, wasn’t too far from winning that first set and then anything can happen. But it wasn’t to be. And then this week in Turkey, semifinal, lost 7-6 in the third, didn’t drop serve all week, so I was within a whisker of making another final. So yeah, pretty happy with the grass-court form," Thompson told Tennis Australia.
