My win over Sharapova in 2017 US Open was one of the best - Sevastova
In an interview with TennisHead Net, Anastasija Sevastova commented on her best career matches wins on Tour. The Latvian player commented: “I think my win over Elina Svitolina at the 2018 US Open was one of the best – if you take out the second set and you only count the first and the third! I think that was one of my best matches in terms of the level of my play. My win over Sharapova at the US Open in 2017 was also one of my best.”
On why she took a business degree, Sevastova said: "There are different careers you can go into with that degree, or you can go on to do more studies. I just felt it would be good for me. The course was also in English, which is one of the reasons why it appealed to me.”
On her break from tennis, she had some time ago, Sevastova added: “I didn’t miss much. Of course, you miss the competition. You miss getting on the court, playing matches, feeling the adrenaline when you play big points. But I think I needed time off. At that time, I was done with tennis. I also felt like I wanted to study and to lead more of a normal life.”
She was finally asked whom she would invite to a special dinner: “That’s a tough one. I would invite my grandfather, who is not alive any more, my grandmother, my mum, my boyfriend and my boyfriend’s mother.”
