The "crazy" Swiss fan who attended Roger Federer v Novak Djokovic final

Yasmin Ernst's face was shown many times during the Wimbledon final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. The 24-year-old just achieved her law studies at Lausanne University. The question that many Swiss fans may have asked themselves is how she managed to see such a big match from the first row. "I owe it to a friend of mine", explained Ernst in an interview to Blick. "He worked as a stats-man for the tournament for several years." As a result, he got some tickets for free.

Ernst and her father sit on the first row on Sunday. An unforgettable experience. "This day was unbelievable. From my seat, you can see anything. I experienced a mixture of feelings. In the end, of course, the disappointment was big. I would have liked Roger to win so much. After the first set, I went to the bathroom. When I checked my phone, I already had 50 messages. They told me I was on TV. When I checked it again after the match, there were already more than 50 messages from all around the world. They told me I was laughing a lot and they did not miss that I got some champagne from a person next to us."

Her outfit was a topic too. "My red outfit was obviously an intentional choice. I wanted to support Roger through Swiss colours." 2019 Wimbledon was not the first tennis tournament she attended as she also was at the French and Australian Open. "I was in Wimbledon thrice. As a normal fan attending the Queue at night. My entire family is crazy about tennis."
