Wife Mirka should convince Roger Federer to play in Slovakia: Hrbarty

In an interview, Slovakia's Davis Cup captain Dominic Hrbaty commented on chances to possibly see Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka in the Swiss team facing Slovakia in the Davis Cup tie in September. "I think the chance for Federer to play is minimum: a week after the tie in Bratislava, you have the Laver Cup", Hrbaty said. "I do not expect Wawrinka to come either. If one of those stars will come, it would be a surprising decision. Maybe Mirka speaks to Roger or something like this, otherwise, I do not see it happening. If Federer and Wawrinka do not come, we will be big favorites. If they come, it would be very tough, they are great players and legends who can compete on all surfaces."

On Henri Laaksonen, he said: "I know him, I even faced him when he was younger. He is a talented guy and can play well. Last year in Indian Wells Martin Klizan beat him in a nice match. We will probably pick clay. If Jozef Kovalík is okay, Laaksonen will not be a player who wins all matches. He can make us struggle but he cannot get three wins."

In an interview, the 2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic spoke about his working co-operation with Novak Djokovic. The Croatian former player said: "He makes a daily effort to always be better. His rivals push him to improve. Novak can always ask where he can improve, he wants to beat the weeks' record as world no. 1 and the Grand Slam titles. So I think he is a big favorite in the US Open. If he is healthy, next year will be an interesting one. We always ask ourselves what he needs to do. He wanted to make someone see his game from a different perspective, mine. This is the mentality of the Balkan people."
