Greg Rusedski speaks on Andy Murray making singles comeback next week

Former world No. 4 Greg Rusedski is surprised to see two-time Cincinnati champion Andy Murray making a singles comeback next week. 

Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, accepted a wildcard into the Cincinnati Masters. 

The former world No. 1 last played singles at the Australian Open, where he was edged out by Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round. 

Following his first round exit at Melbourne Park, Murray underwent a hip resurfacing surgery. 

Murray made a winning return to tennis six months later when he and partner Feliciano Lopez won it all at the Queen's Club. 

After playing doubles at five tournaments since making his return, the 32-year-old feels his body is ready for singles action. 

"Have to say I am surprised that Andy Murray has decided to start playing singles this week in Cincy. Must mean the hip and body feel ready. Thought he would wait until after the Us Open. Great news! We will get to see where he is in singles," Rusedski tweeted. 

Murray, now ranked at No. 326 in the world, is set to make his 14 appearance in Cincinnati.
