Nick Kyrgios needs serious help, says Hantuchova

Speaking on Amazon Prime, former player-turned-pundit Daniela Hantuchova commented on Nick Kyrgios' antics in Cincinnati. The Slovakian said: "He actually needs serious help. Not only on the tennis stuff but I think on his life in general because that’s the reason he’s behaving how he is on the tennis court. I think he has so many issues going on outside the court.”

Her co-pundit Greg Rusedski, a former world No. 4, added: "Last time he got pushed out of the game and had to take time away from it. You look [now] and did that really work? He hired a sports psychologist, did it make a difference in his behaviour? I think he needs a regular therapist to deal with other issues so he can behave himself on the court. And he has to believe in these things because he is such a talented player. But his performance on the court was unacceptable. The way he was with Fergus Murphy, especially spitting at the end, was not good for our sport and he needs to clean that up. So this could be a long suspension. But he needs help to get back to become the player he should be and the person he is off the court.”

Rusedski commented on Roger Federer's loss to Andrey Rublev in Cincinnati. The Brit believes that Federer was influenced by his Wimbledon final loss to Novak Djokovic. “It’s definitely been keeping him up all night," admitted Rusedski. "That could possibly be his last chance to win a Major. When have you heard Roger Federer losing a match two match points up in the finals of Wimbledon?”
