Rafael Nadal needs to be patient against Diego Schwartzman, says Corretja
In an interview to Eurosport the former world No. 2 Alex Corretja praised Rafael Nadal's four-set fourth round match win over Marin Cilic in the US Open. The Spaniard said: "There was a moment in the second set where Cilic was leading, then they took a five, six-minute break, they changed clothes, Rafa understood he needed to be aggressive, closer to the baseline. I love his gamestyle and he heads into the quarter-finals perfectly."
On the upcoming match between Nadal and Diego Schwartzman, Corretja added: "He is a player who plays well from the baseline, he can deal with Nadal's forehand, he is doing well physically, Rafa needs to move him around and dominate but be patient because it's a complicated match. They will play at night so the ball doesn't bounce a lot but the match will always be around that time. Rafa has a great mental strength so he is the favorite."
On Matteo Berrettini's win over Gael Monfils, Corretja concluded: "I like the way Berrettini moves, plays, hits serve and forehand. He is nice and humble, he is one of the most surprising players this year. I am also a fan of Gael Monfils, he is a magician."
