Roger Federer is unbelievably humble, says Margaroli

In an interview, the Swiss player Luca Margaroli commented on Roger Federer's longevity. Margaroli said: "He had an amazing career, he broke almost all the records... And yet he stayed a simple person. I met Federer during the several years of the Basel tournament, he is unbelievably humble considering all what he achieved and won. His goal in Wimbledon will be to get far."

When Margaroli was 11 years old, Federer won his maiden Wimbledon. Was it an inspiring? "In my room there is his poster (laughter). He has always been my idol and I grew up watching his wins. The first time I had the chance to train with him in Basel was a great emotion. His elegant gamestyle for me is inspiring, I grew up with the same idea of his technique and clean game. Over those years Federer attracted a lot of attention in tennis always giving a good image. He is unique."

On Federer, Nadal and Djokovic dominance, Margaroli concluded: "Not only in the Majors, if you look at the percentage of wins in Masters 1000s, you understand they did not give you any room. Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem and recently Fabio Fognini won a 1000, but that didn't happen so often."

In an interview to Sport Klub, the former world No. 5 Henri Leconte shared what makes Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic special. "Novak is probably the best player ever because he has all the shots, no weaknesses, he plays big on all surfaces and he makes his opponents explode mentally and physically. Rafa is a fighter who never gives up and works well, with his technique, and Roger is an artist who is able to play in different ways. That's why I like that they win Majors."
