Alex de Minaur e Nick Kyrgios excited and pumped for ATP Cup
Rising Australian star Alex de Minaur claims he and fellow compatriot Nick Kyrgios can't wait to represent their country at the inaugural ATP Cup in January.
The pressure will be on world No. 18 de Minaur and 30th-ranked Kyrgios to deliver at the ATP Cup, which will feature 24 nations and take place across three Australian cities from January 03-12.
Australia will be battling against Germany, Greece and Canada in Brisbane for the spot of Group F.
"It’s going to be really cool. I can’t wait. I love playing at home and I think in team competition you can feel the support even more. It’s exciting times and I know at least for the time being, me and Nick, we’re really pumped to play at home," de Minaur told the ATP Cup
When asked had he directly spoken to Kyrgios about the new event, de Minaur said: "Sure. We’ve been speaking about it for a while now. We both can’t wait for the moment to come so we can be side by side and represent Australia in the ATP Cup. I think we’ve got a good team and we’re pumped."
De Minaur and Kyrgios were both members of the Australian team that made the quarterfinals at the inaugural Davis Cup Finals in Madrid.
