David Goffin speaks on inter-team practice sessions at Davis Cup Finals

Belgian tennis star David Goffin is a big fan of inter-team practice sessions at the Davis Cup Finals. 

Under the new format, the Davis Cup Finals will be a one-week long event, featured by 18 nations, which will be divided into six groups -- each consisting of three teams. 

The Belgian and British players gathered for a practice ahead of the start of the inaugural Davis Cup Finals in Madrid. 

Great Britain beat Belgium in the Davis Cup final four years ago to lift its first Davis Cup title since  1936. 

That’s one of the positive things you can do here,” Goffin told the Davis Cup Finals.

“Today we made a small Davis Cup in the big Davis Cup because I played with Andy, and then Kimmer [Coppejans] is playing with [Dan] Evans and then Steve [Darcis] is playing with Kyle [Edmund]. Maybe we’ll play against each other after the group stage if we play well, but for the moment we aren’t in the same group, we can practice with a good atmosphere, so it’s nice.”
