Denis Shapovalov impressed by Novak Djokovic's serving display
Rising Canadian tennis star Denis Shapovalov was impressed by the serving display No. 1 Novak Djokovic showed in the Paris Masters final.
The 32-year-old Serb won 81 percent of his first serve points and 80 percent of his second serve points en route to handing the 20-year-old a 6-3 6-4 loss in the Paris final.
The 16-time Grand Slam champion faced only one break point in just over an hour of play -- which he successfully saved.
"Definitely trying to return his serve today [was the most frustrating part],” Shapovalov said after the final, per the Rolex Paris Masters website. “I think he was serving really well. He just places it well. It's tough to read. He changes it up, has a good variety. He was really picking his spots today, so I had maybe one chance, but it was tough. I mean, he played solid."
Shapovalov, who recently claimed his maiden ATP title at the Stockholm Open, was aiming to end his season on a great way and enter the next season full of confidence.
