Mardy Fish Children's Foundation to Host Fundraiser Tournament
Tennis - The Mardy Fish Children's Foundation will host the fundraising 5th Annual M&M Classic Tournament on December 6th to 7th this year at the Boulevard Tennis Club in Vero Beach, Florida. The Foundation is an official USTA Florida Community Tennis Association and National Junior Tennis & Learning Network (NJTL) program.
The event would be hosted by Mike & Meg Hickey. The tournament has doubles & mixed doubles events and the entry fee is $100 per team. It includes a free gift, sponsor goodies, continental breakfast and lunch among other things.
Ticket sales would be donated to the Mardy Fish Children's Foundation, which supports more than 2,400 children annually as it provides grants to 15 elementary schools, six middle schools, three after-school centers and more than 10 organizations across the Vero Beach, Florida area.
The NJTL program features nearly 300 chapters that reach approximately 180,000 youth on an annual basis and provides free or low-cost tennis and education programs to the 50 largest markets in the United States. The program aims to nurture future leaders and enable children to succeed on the court and in the classroom and later hope to translate this to success in life as well.
According to its website, the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation provides a safe environment for children to participate in such activities as tennis, dance, gardening, sports and art. The Foundation introduced the “Six Healthy Habits” in 2012 which are Get Sleep; Drink Water; Exercise Daily, Eat Healthily; Brush and Floss; Make Friends.
