Roger Federer was happy like a kid before going to South America - Rosset

In an interview to RTS Sport the former world No. 9 Marc Rosset spoke about Roger Federer playing exhibition matches in South America. Rosset said: "Roger sent me some photos from what he saw in South America. It's amazing. Already before going there, he showed me some images where he would have played and he was speaking with the stars on his eyes. He was like a kid, happy and impatient. I heard some critics saying that he goes there for money or that he should not go there because politics is bad, but we should stop! Do we criticize Rolling Stones for the places we go in? We do not know if this money goes to his Foundation or other activities, like he does with his Swiss Indoors fee. Federer goes there to make the fans enjoy. He is like a rock star and makes people enjoy. Federer goes beyond sports. Everyone enjoys with him. The Ole Ole Roger that people chanted in Buenos Aires, they usually do it for Diego Maradona or Juan Martin del Potro, local heroes."

On the new Davis Cup format, Rosset concluded: "Of course I am watching what's happening and I fall from my seat watching it. I see some teams rejecting to play doubles because they are already qualified or because it's too late during the night, which is really unbelievable."
