It's a run against time now for Roger Federer, says Bresnik

In an interview with Kurier, Dominic Thiem's ex-coach Gunter Bresnik spoke about Roger Federer's chances to win a Grand Slam title again. Bresnik didn't sound too confident speaking of the Swiss. "It's a run against time for him. His body doesn't hold up forever, although he trains hard. The same thing for Rafael Nadal," admitted Bresnik, who feels confident about the future of tennis: "You always had rivalries. Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi or Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. And the new guys coming up. Out of the five, six younger guys, two will come up in the next future. Dominic can be one of them."

On Zverev, Bresnik said: "Two years ago I said he would become the new world No. 1. This year whatever reasons it didn't work this year. He split with his agent. He was involved in a legal dispute. He grew at a very young age and he pays the price at 22. I think Dominic has high chances. Tennis can become the number one sport in Austria in the next years."

Thiem has earned more than $20 million in prize money so far. Is it possible to live a normal life? "I'm very lucky because | have six or seven close friends from childhocd. Of course, in general, it's not possible to live a normal life. But when I'm in Austria, I do all kinds of things with my friends. During those periods, I revitalize myself parfectly, therefore I'm prepared to go back to the lite on tour, which is definitely surreal."
