Mother reveals the thing nobody knows about Dominic Thiem
Dominic Thiem's mother Karin was asked by Tennis World USA what is the thing that nobody knows about her son. Karin commented: "He is the godfather of an eagle in Austria and from the anteater “Ilse “ in the famous zoo Schönbrunn in Vienna."
Karin said she doesn't follow Dominic every tournament he plays in: "I only go with him to several tournaments, we split the presence at the tournaments my husband and me. For me it is much easier to watch the matches live because there on court or in the hotel I can feel the atmosphere, how Dominic is feeling, therefore it is easier to understand some situations."
Can Dominic's son Moritz become a successful player too? "Moritz is a completely other character and player. He needs more time to come up. He is very focused and a hard worker, he has time, so we will see where he will go."
On Thiem staying in Austria and not moving to Monte Carlo or Dubai, he added: "Dominic loves Austria, Vienna was elected again for the most livable city in the world. We have a good economy, good schools, a good health system, an amazing nature, the water you can drink everywhere. A sportsman has a special tax rate in Austria therefore there is no reason for him to go away."
