Patrick Mouratoglou: Alexander Zverev reminds me of Andy Murray

Coach Patrick Mouratoglou insists that there is still a lot of time for world No. 7 Alexander Zverev to win a Grand Slam title as he says the talented German reminds him of Great Britain's Andy Murray.

Zverev, an 11-time ATP champion, owns three Masters titles and one Nitto ATP Finals trophy but he hasn't been able to deliver at the Grand Slam level so far in his short career.  

Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, was constantly making deep runs at the Grand Slams early in his career but his maiden Grand Slam glory came at the US Open in 2012, at the age of 25. 

"He reminds me of Andy Murray,” Mouratoglou told Spiegel, as quoted on Tennis365. “Murray had long been a fantastic player, but not a Grand Slam winner.

“Then he changed some things in his game and became a winner. I think Sascha can do that too. But he needs to evolve."

Zverev, who achieved a career-high ranking of No. 3 in the world, has never made a Grand Slam quarterfinal outside of the French Open. 

The German made back-to-back quarterfinals at Roland Garros in 2018 and 2019.
