We will miss Roger Federer when he retires, says Acasuso

The former Argentinean player and current Guido Pella's coach Jose Acasuso spoke about Roger Federer's legacy. Acasuso said: "Roger is a privileged physically, he has been at the top for 20 years. Hopefully, we can enjoy him for some more time because we are lucky to coincide with him, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. The day he will retire, we will miss him."

On Pella's 2020 plans, Acasuso added: "He will play the ATP Cup, the Australian Open, the South American swing (Argentina Open and Cordoba). Then he will definitely add Indian Wells and Miami. My priority is that he keeps improving as a player because it will mean to raise on rankings and win more titles. It was the best year in his career, now you have to back it up which is not easy."

On the future of the Argentinean tennis, Acasuso said: "There are many guys playing well, there is a nice group. Now they are maturing later, but a tennis player's life is getting longer. The economic situation is a tough one but the country is making an effort to make good players come out. Hopefully, it keeps like this."

Reflecting on his own career, Acasuso concluded: "Of course everyone always thinks about being a top ten player, but when I started playing tennis I did not have exact goals. I am very happy with the career I had and I am very grateful to tennis because everything I have thanks to this sport."
