On Tuesday, the 21st of January 2020, starting off the tournament with a shoulder injury, the 32-year-old Russian spesh, Maria Sharapova, was knocked out of the Australian Open in the first-round after faltering against the 19th Seed, 23-year-old Croatian Vekic, remarking the Russian’s third straight first-round losses in a row in the Grand Slam Tournaments.

As a matter of fact, despite a flurry of unfathomable flairs stretching out of her racquet from time-to-time in the one hour and twenty-one minutes match, the five times Grand Slam title winner and a scintillating comely, Maria Sharapova had failed to sustain the momentum and the 19th Seed had seized the match 6-3, 6-4.

Meanwhile, as the faltering angel, former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova, who earned a wild card entry in to the tournament after duelling against a gruelling shoulder injury throughout last season which appeared to have weighed on to her Tuesday’s (January 21st) teetering against the Croatian as well, the 32-year-old sublime marvel said in a post-match interview on Tuesday (January 21st), “I can speak about my struggles and the things that I've gone through with my shoulder, but it's not really in my character to," Sharapova said, via the WTA. "So, you know, I was there. I put myself out there. You know, as tough as it was, you know, I finished the match and, yeah, it wasn't the way that I wanted.”
