“I'm really happy with the win today” Matteo Berrettini after bruising Andrew Harris

Matteo Berrettini, the 23-year-old Italian young flair, galloped through to the second round after ripping off the Australian wild card Andrew Harris in straight sets.

In point of fact, Monday’s (January 20th) ’20 AO first round match has witnessed an utterly commanding and aggressive performance from the Italian eighth seed, as the electrifying Italian cannonade, Berrettini, spent no time at all to get down to the business at the hard court of Melbourne arena, convincing beating the Aussie Andrew Harris 6-3, 6-1, 6-3.

If truth is to be told, the Australian wild card, Harris had never played a tour-level main draw or any one among the top-ten, and the Monday’s (January 20th) monologue had proven a climb of nearly 200 spots last year had been too much for the 25-year-old Aussie.

Apart from that, the ‘rip-roaring all-court’ Roman, Berrettini, widely hailed for his exhilarating serves and stretchy forehands, seemed to have rampaged the Aussie wild card by converting 5 out of 9 break points and hammering down the shaky Australian in 115 minutes.

Meanwhile, voicing a strident tone, the 23-year-old Italian, Berrettini said in his on-court interview on Monday (January 20th) morning, “I'm really happy with the win today. I'm going to practise a little bit tomorrow... I'm really enjoying the city so far.”
