Nick Kyrgios: I'm just playing for a lot more than myself

Australian world No. 26 Nick Kyrgios admitted to feeling nerves in his opener at Melbourne Park but he was pretty satisfied with the way he performed against Lorenzo Sonego.
Kyrgios, who is the top-ranked Australian at Melbourne Park, saw off world No. 53 Sonego in straight sets 6-2 7-6 (3) 7-6 (1) to set up a second round meeting against Gilles Simon.
After claiming two breaks in the first set, Kyrgios struggled on Sonego's serve in the next two sets but he came up big in both tie breaks to secure a straight-set win.
"I was definitely really nervous walking out there. But, I mean, the crowd was unbelievable. I got comfortable quite early in the match. I played an unbelievable first set, which helped. I thought the pressure kind of eased off after I won that first set,” Kyrgios said, per the tournament's website.
“I'm just playing for a lot more than myself. I guess it's just a perspective thing, isn't it? Why am I really getting mad on the tennis court with everything going on?
"I felt like I was very focused today. Every match I've played this year, I've been pretty good. It's probably because of everything going on.”
