Serena Williams: I love playing at the Australian Open

Serena Williams, the sedulous 38-year-old American with 23 major singles titles in the Open Era, appeared to be in a luminous form as the red-letter seven-times Australian Open Champion had started off her 19th Australian Open campaign with a feathery triumph against the Russian 18-year-old Anastasia Potapova, a former Jr. No. 1.

In point of fact, the 38-year-old soul-stirring spesh with 73 WTA titles, Serena Williams had been out of the picture for the last three years, but recently she picked up some of the footings following her Auckland Classic title earlier this month.

On top of that, on Monday (January 20th) Morning, Melbourne Park had witnessed an older version of Serena Williams when she was thought to be an impregnable marvel, as the Russ teen was out-performed 6-0, 6-3 in straight sets, while the first set was wrapped under 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, thanking her fans for an incredible support at a jam-packed Rod Laver Arena court, Serena Williams said in the on-court interview on Monday (January 20th) morning, “It is good to be back. I love playing here in Melbourne, this is one of my favourite cities. I started out well today and ended well. I am obviously playing a player who is a great girl. I really like her and she really fought well today. It is my first round coming off a week off - let me get out of here I'm rambling. Thanks everyone so much for the support. It is good to be back. I love playing here in Melbourne, this is one of my favourite cities. I started out well today and ended well. I am obviously playing a player who is a great girl. I really like her and she really fought well today.”
