Daniil Medvedev speaks highly of Rotterdam, tournament's player field
World No. 5 Daniil Medvedev has nothing but good to say about the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.
Medvedev, seeded at No. 1, will open his Rotterdam campaign against Vasek Pospisil, who just ended runner-up at the Open Sud de France in Montpellier.
It won't be an easy first round match against in-form Pospisil but the Russian says you have to be prepared for every match to be tough in Rotterdam.
"I like it here, the courts, the facilities, everything. The field is so strong. In Grand Slams you face great players in the later stages, but in Rotterdam you already play a Top 50 player in round one," Medvedev said, per the tournament's Twitter account.
Medvedev, who made the Rotterdam semifinal last year, is set to make his third appearance at the tournament.
The 23-year-old enters Rotterdam as the top favorite to win it all and he will certainly be extremely motivated to make it a step further at the event this year.
