Nicolas Mahut: Rotterdam's Centre Court is one of greatest on Tour
France's Nicolas Mahut says Rotterdam is a special tournament for him and their Centre Court is one the best on the Tour.
Mahut, 38, enjoyed a great week in Rotterdam with his 28-year-old partner Pierre-Hugues Herbert as they captured the doubles title.
Mahut and Herbert, seeded at No. 2, edged out Finland's Henri Kontinen and Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 7-6 (5) 4-6 10-7 in the final.
It was the second Rotterdam title for the Frenchmen as they also won it all at the tournament in 2018.
Mahut debuted at the Rotterdam event in 2008 and since then he has made seven singles appearances at the tournament.
The Frenchman's best singles result at the tournament came in 2016, when he made the semifinal.
"It is a tournament I love,” Mahut said after winning this year's Rotterdam doubles title, per the ATP Tour. “The first time I came here, I saw the Centre Court [and] it is amazing. One of the greatest on the Tour, definitely. I have a special feeling when I play in Holland… There is something special here.”
