Rafael Nadal Leads ATP Players When Breaking Serve from Deuce

Spain's Rafael Nadal leads the ATP players when it comes to breaking serve the most from Deuce, according to an analysis by Infosys ATP Beyond The Numbers , published on the ATP website.

Looking at data of players who have had a minimum of 100 chances to break their opponents serve from Deuce in the past five years from 2015-2019, Nadal leads the list with an overall success rate of 41.39% on all surfaces with his percentages going up on clay to nearly 49% (Clay = 48.72% (190/390); Hard = 35.12% (164/467); Grass = 42.42% (28/66))

Britain's Andy Murray is ranked second overall in the past five seasons on all surfaces, breaking serve 38.10 per cent of the time from Deuce. The three-time Grand Slam champion is the hard-court leader, breaking serve 37.56% from 2015-2019. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic comes in third place overall followed by Chilean Cristian Garin at No. 4.

The leaders for the past five seasons are -  2015: Rafael Nadal = 44.93% (93/207) 2016: Andy Murray = 43.86% (100/228) 2017: Yoshihito Nishioka = 48.84% (21/43) 2018: Rafael Nadal = 46.54% (74/159) 2019: Rafael Nadal = 41.12% (81/197)
