The filmmaker who recorded Roger Federer for a Mercedes ad becomes an entrepreneur
Roger Federer starred in a 2016 Mercedes-Benz commercial for a V-Class car and the result was fascinating, the piece becoming a part of filmmaker Daniel “Rocco” Kopecny’s portfolio and helping the producer gain major contracts in his field of work. Now, Kopecny got to the next level.
Daniel Kopecny and his partner Andreas Roth founded AKKURAT Studios, an international artist-driven production and publishing company. The company already collaborated on projects with Adidas, Mercedes, Bucherer Blue and the Swedish singer Snoh Aalegra.
However, Kopecny brings a lot of value to the company as a managing director since he worked, besides the Roger Federer commercial, with brands like Audi, BMW, KIA, Ford, FIAT, L’Oréal, Garnier and Nike. And that’s not all. Daniel works have highlighted other celebrities as well, Robert De Niro, Chuck Norris and Bastian Schweinsteiger being some of them. The German company has its headquarters in Berlin, but they have a branch in Los Angeles.
Plans call for AKKURAT to handle the U.S. for much of its talent in the near future, introducing filmmakers and creatives from Germany to broader worldwide, writes Shootonline.com.
Switching back to the 2016 commercial, Roger Federer was featured driving in the V-Class Mercedes car alongside his two pairs of twins — important to mention is that the kids in the commercial are stand-ins, and not Roger’s actual kids. The idea behind the commercial was to show how handy the V-Class can be if you have a family, even one so numerous like Roger and Mirka’s one.
