WTA Future Stars location chosen for 2020. Here is where it will be held...

The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) and Tennis South Africa have announced that it will bring the WTA Future Stars event to South Africa in 2020, as per Sport24.

The WTA Future Stars is a singles competition for girls in the under-14 and under-16 age categories, which results in a global final which is held in the lead-up to the WTA Finals in Shenzhen - the season-ending event on the WTA Tour which brings together the top eight singles players of the year.

The South African leg of WTA Future Stars will be hosted as part of the 2020 Junior Nationals which take place in Bloemfontein from March 26-31 with the girls who win under-14 and under-16 singles titles, getting the opportunity to represent South Africa at the WTA Future Stars final in Shenzhen.

Melissa Pine, WTA Vice President of Global Programmes, commented, "We are thrilled to be working closely with Tennis South Africa to expand our global WTA Future Stars program into the region. We hope this exciting new partnership will empower the next generation of young girls to stretch their limits and inspire them to achieve their goals in life, while offering invaluable insight into the world of professional tennis."

The WTA Future Stars was established in 2014 and is held in various countries such as Australia, Canada, China, Great Britain, India and the USA. Besides competing in the WTA Future Stars, the players in the event also get a chance to meet WTA legends, receive mentorship from them and attend coaching clinics.
